Souvik Ghosh

Physicist. Founder of Vishwa Vigyan.

I’m Souvik Ghosh, a physicist. I work on experimental quantum hardware in the Quantum Circuits Laboratory and the Research Center for Quantum Computing and Quantum Materials in Taiwan: superconducting circuits, cryogenic measurements, and the data analysis that comes with them. My theory work covers non-Hermitian and quasiperiodic systems and mesoscopic transport. Before this I did research at the S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences in Kolkata.

My first milestone

To change the lives of 10,000 of my brothers and sisters.

I already support friends and students, one at a time. I am building a community in Vishwa Vigyan out of that. If you want to learn to build things, write to me.

I want to learn

Why Vishwa Vigyan

A question addressed to me.

Souvik Ghosh at night on a rooftop, wrapped in a white shawl, looking out over the city lights.

When I first read how Krishnaprasanna Bhattacharyya left Raman’s laboratory for a village on the Padma, it did not feel like history. It felt like a question addressed to me.

Thakur called the Vishwa Vigyan Kendra the thing dearest to his heart. Partition took the building, the instruments and the village, but it did not take the intent behind them. I have come to feel that helping to rebuild it, in the form our century needs, is the work of my life. I do not claim to be equal to it. I only know that I cannot set it aside.
